Description

For this month's challenge: Antique/Nostalgia.
This is not a bench, even though it looks like it! This was used by washerwomen to rest their knees on while doing their laundry! I have no idea how old it is though! :(
Thx for taking the time to stop by and comment gang! Ur honest feedback is always highly appreciated! :)

I like the way it disappears into darkness. Something slightly forboding about this, but it's all suggested, all in the mind. As if there are the impressions of countless people who have lived and died, leaving an invisible stain. Or something like that :-)

...and lean over the back part? What an odd thing; at any rate like the b&w and the comp here. As a sucker for infinite black I like how the room disappears into it. Very cool.

Wonderful image and the composition is superb! Looks more like a mid-evil torture device :-) Could be just a tad-bit sharper though :-) (Of course kidding muchly) Superb!

J'aime bien l'id et l'objet, et aussi le choix du noir et blanc, mais je trouve aussi que c'est un tout petit peu trop sombre sur la fin de la photo. Mais le tout est tr sympa ;o))))

A wonderful photo. I also like the way it fades away to black. Thanks for telling us what this really is. I've never heard of such a piece of furniture used for this purpose.

i was looking forward to what you did after the People Of London series. definitely not a disappointment! this is such a gorgeous study!! VOTE (i'd also have to guess that it was made during Victoria's reign or just prior to it from the style.)

Excellent and so interesting Pascale! I've never seen such a thing. I guess it would be cool for chatting to your neighbor who was also doing her wash right next to you...lol :-) Maybe this is the first laundromat! LOL Great entry for the challenge and very cool find! :-)

The amount of light you got is just perfect, just enough to show all the detail and not too much, too keep the nostalgic feel. Super :))
