Description
The raw image at the top shows a beautiful capture of a juvenile Turkey Vulture, except for that clipped wing. To fix it in Photoshop, first make the canvas larger at the top, and fill it in with sky, using the clone stamp tool. Then cut out a piece of the other wing with the lasso tool, and paste it into a new layer. Flip that wing piece horizontally and rotate it to approximately match it up with the part that needs filling. Then select the entire new layer, and under the edit menu, choose transform - skew. Squish the wing piece until it matches the more severe angle of the clipped wing, and trim its edges to keep as much of the underlying wing as possible. Adjust the levels and hue of the wing piece, and flatten the image. Finally, soften the edges of the patch with the smudge and clone stamp tools. And voila!
