A graven image of wood has begun to take over the scuptured metal surface of the classic shape of 1942-48. My book on the Ford V-8 says the 1947 cannot be told from the 1947. They all had tubular shocks. How about the squirrelcage blower under the hood with the long duct going to the right of the radiator? Aha! this one has rubber grooved splash shields on the rear fenders and my 1948 had chromed white metal. But it was a Super Deluxe coupe not a woody. For reference the 1946 had rectangular parking lights over the grille and a painted groove in the middle of the stainless steel trim spears on the fenders. Now where I really get confused is the hubcaps. My car had both the red Ford script with the hash marks and...and the embossed stripe with blue Ford in block letters so when I go to the NOS sites and see that the red is 1946 and the blue is 1947/48 I cry out for I am sure the script with oval in the nose of the top grille bar on mine was red!! You mean the hubcaps paint did not match the grille. I also am sure the paint stripe in there trim on the 1946 fenders was blue. All these years and now the true faith is shown here and I cringe.
