Hi, someone asked how I did my last image like this so I'll set it all out now.
First, the landscape background image is a stock photo from sxc.com slightly altered by me. There was water in the forgroung but I didn't like it so I used 'Flood' effect from Flaming Pear. When I altered the image the moon changed shape so I used a moon tube that I had created earlier to replace it.(in PSP9) Then added another moon for good measure.
Next, the female face is also a stock image, from my own collection. I used a greyscale effect then 'brightness and contrast' to cut it back to the basics and deleted the background leaving just the face in 'ghost'. I pasted this image over the landscape background.
Next, I used the eraser tool to take the face image right back to the bare essentials, then painted over the hair again with the paintbrush tool. Thats it! Easy! but very time consuming.
