Description

Desert southwest architecture has as its base purpose to integrate design, form, and function with the natural surroundings. I think they did rather well here. (Not my house :-) Thank you all so very much for all your wonderful comments and I wish to thank you for taking your time to view my artistic scribblings. Your comments and suggestions are not only deeply appreciated but valued highly.

I think they did QUITE well here, though the golf course like lawn seems to be the one out of place element. Great photo...a spot where I gnome can come and take a break. ;]

Yes, it must be difficult to be a cactus wren and have to live in one of those tall, skinny cacti. :0 A beautiful photo and thoughtful intro.

Lots of houses in Australia are built like this, some even under the ground, as lots od esert here too. Love the way they have blended the house into the hills, and cept for the lawn( a little funny to see) it is a very nice place to live, Ecclent shot again Paul, and nice to see how the houses are made there. With the exception of the grass, it does fit in very well. oops see others have commented on that too. The English lawn has no place in the SW; love the house and your photo.
