Description

This is Hephaestus. Not really a ship, but one of the only trully sentiant machines in existance. As its name sugests "Hep" made the main bulk of the ship, you see Hep was a discarded deep space com relay satalite with the ability to self repair. What really started most of the changes was a hacker trying to get Hep back in service, and working for her. One of the things the hacker wanted to do, was to set the self repair sub-system building a ship from scratch. In order to do this Hep upgraded, till a glimmer of thourght, not program broke forth. Over the last hundred years or so, Hep has delighted in making a mechologies. Machine Ecologies on asteriods. Out of these a whole new class of devises grew. Helping with everything, from mining to cybonetics limb and organs they evolved. Part of the joy for Hep is to take a companion human along for the ride. Right now Hep's looking for a friend to journey. Hephaestus is is not the only one. There is another... GHIA. I made Hephaestus from my free stuff at 3DCommune to show what can be done with it. I used Blender 3D, and the Atmosphereic Glider is by James Miller. Main mats by Watchful Eye. Be willing to dream a better dream...;)

Wonderful! Thanx for giving us a better view of this, and the background details to explain it. I knew that when Burpee said there were jaggies on your spaceship ("City Life 3" image) that he wasn't seeing it right. This image really brings home the scale of the other one!

Pakled is right, but there's much more to the story than that. He was thrown out of Olympus and into the sea for being ugly, then rescued by a couple of Goddess. In the end they set him up on shore so he could make things out of sea junk. For me space is a sea of sorts, thus the conection...;)
