Description

Here's a wings model I started working on yesterday. Rendered in Bryce and a fair amount of postwork in PS. It's based on Drum Point Lighthouse which is now at Calvert Marine Museum. Thanks for looking. Edit - I've been looking at more photos. The lighthouse originally didn't sit on the wodden platform, but on the seabed itself. The ocean would rise up to the mid joint of the legs. There was no staircase and people would get into it by ladder. maybe I'll do another render to show that.

The boards of the walk leading to the lighthouse seem to be floating. And there's a seagull, but no bird poop. Come on phil, focus. :p

Really nice work there! Excellent models. I really like the layer on layer blur there, really effective for this scene;)

EW - It's in Maryland now, so not a million miles from Maine. Bryster - I actually thought something similar. Remember the Disney movie The Black Hole? Reminds me of that. Xenic - It's the shadow that's confusing you. There's a rowing boat in front of the posts.

I love the composition on this peice. The muted colors almost slip into greyscale, giving a sense of peace and age to a quant old model. Wonderful job with all three programs. Bravo.

Dunno how this slipped by me as I love lighthouses and this is a fantastic model and render of one! Not your average-style lighthouse either.

VERY nicely done. But, why all the Photoshop work afterward? All the effects seem to detract from the image. By the way, the Lunar lander and such ARE based on this idea. It has the most stable shape for the situation.
