Description

This image was produced using 4 frames out of an animation I created showing a entire year in the life of an oak tree in 24 seconds. Everything here (and in the animation) was modelled, textured and rendered in Cinema 4D 9.1, except for the tree trunk, which was created in Xfrog. The complete animation took just over 14 hours to render, and makes extensive use of C4D's Thinking Particles and Xpresso. You can view the complete result here: Seasons is a 35.5 Mb DiVX 5-encoded AVI with a theme-appropriate soundtrack. Seasons2 is a 3.07 Mb version of the same animation without the soundtrack, for those of you on dial-up ;-) Enjoy!

Great animation. I think the lighting has to improve. The trunk is far to much in shadow. Perhaps a light from above/behind would help? All in all, great work!! :)) Strata
