Description

I finally captured the few moments when the Monarch caterpillar emerges from its chrysalis. It happened so rapidly that I barely got the camera out in time! These were all taken with a flash. The butterfly was moving around so much and it was very difficult to get a decent focus. In my excitement I guess I moved too, so some of them are blurry. Sorry. This is such a unique opportunity that I figured you'd forgive me! I numbered each picture so you can see the steps. As its wings were unfolding I decided to get shots of it next to the fully extended butterfly so you could compare the size. (The one that came out earlier that I missed.) Now they join the migration! Have a great week and thanks for views and comments. Jodie :0)
