Description

Mission - San Xavier Del Bac One of the oldest still functioning churches in the U.S. Originally founded in 1692 by the Jesuit Missionary Father Eusebio Francisco Kino and named after his patron saint Francis Xavier, the Jesuit "Apostle of the Indies." The present site is approximately 9 miles south of Tucson, AZ and is located on the Tohono O'odham (formally Papago) indian reservation. Since the mission is currently undergoing restoration, as evidenced by the 'big baggie' on the left side of the image, I'll be showing only selections of the building - obviously ones that interest me the most :-) Architecturally, it is a graceful blend of Moorish, Byzantine and late Mexican Renaissance architecture, yet the blending is so complete it is hard to tell where one type begins and another ends. Another artistic scribbling - Your comments and suggestion are very highly valued and quite deeply appreciated.

Another really fantastic shot ... and I love the way you've avoided that ugly scaffolding and plastic used for restoration work on the other tower. Excellent!

Mes sentiments se melent de sit de romance et de poie, je suis enchaincette fresque de la vie que tu offres mon regard!,....BRAVO!, Guillaume.
