Description

Yellow Tangs... they were fun to wacth they loved playing in the bubbles.. i loved thier bright bold color..! The Yellow Hawaiian Tang, also known as the Yellow Sailfin Tang, or Yellow Surgeonfish, has an oval bright yellow body. It is widespread throughout Hawaii to Indonesia and the Great Barrier Reef. It is a grazing fish with a diet of almost anything that is green (ie. alge, grass, lettuce...). It is not unheard of for the fish to eat meat. Even though this fish is generaly an herbivore the tang has been known to eat shrimp and other smaller animals. This varying diet may even include excrements from other fish. This small fish is very territorial; especially in the presence of another tang fish. The yellow tang is also in the sergeant fish family. This fish is excellent with inverts and the like. He is the sole occupant fish wise, and perfect in every way. He loves to chase the bubbles out of the power head The tang fish does not require a lot of space in which to live. But please take in mind when using the tang in an aquarium that it needs a constant flow of water. Not much but some, it helps the fish stay in shape and keeps the fish in good health. The short snout has evolved for the specialized task of grazing on algae which grows on rocks. The mouth and surrounding skin has toughened to withstand the impact with the rough reef surface. Like other fish in the sergeant fish family they have a number of small spines protruding near their tail. The spines near their tail is how they got their name, also commonly called the scalpel fish. As mentioned above the spines on the tail serve dual purposes as a means of defence and as an anchor while sleeping . My first picture ever of fishes in a tank., was hard to get the lighting right as it was underglass in an aquaruim thanks for all your time and comments hugs! ♥ ~! Kimmers!

Nice work Kimmers! :) I like the fun way you cut them out, looks like a fish diorama! The colors are indeed vibrant! And I seen no flash or reflection! So these are what my favorite childhood drink were made of? ;) Great pic!

I seem to remember a yellow fish pretty similar to these from Finding Nemo that had a somewhat deranged affinity for bubbles :) The light is great despite difficult conditions - and I love your framing and layout.

WOW!!! This is fantastic!!! Gorgeous capture Kimmie, really impressive considering it was shot through a glass. Wow. I saw plenty of those fished when i went scuba-diving in Thailand and they sure are pretty. Especially when you see them in number of thousands. Perfect crop as well. Have a wonderful day #:O)
