There is something about your photograph that touched me straight off. All of the parts, legs, appear as if they were in some kind of convention. Imagine the stories they are telling each other about their previous life or lives, the families they lived with, the other furniture that they shared space with. The happiness and tears they observed. Do they miss their previous owners/families? Wow! That's what I see from this magnificent photograph. This is full of life and memories, not a graveyard of "legs". What a gift for Ian and for all of us who view this special and techinically superb photograph.

why do you make me think of excessive Victorian prudery? The lovely old story that legs were considered so 'indecent' that some matrons even had the legs of their pianos covered up. If that were still the case, you wouldn't have much of picture...

I like this photograph Egmont. I find it very original, and that makes funny effect to see all these feet of tables and chairs empill like that. If the human body could be repaired as a piece of furniture.... if one could easily have spare parts, and during our life, to change pieces, not to reach the eternal life, which in my opinion does not have any direction. But to live better the moment present, to always be able gone the high head, and to keep its dignity... If all could be different... Excuses me, it was a photograph for a birthday, and I turned over it in another direction, harmonizes with my thoughts not always very merry ! It's a superb photograph, and a pretty thought for Ian's Birthday ! Hugs Egmont. Thank you to be there... and to show us differents things.

I feel blessed with the quality of comments. From a little humor and silliness, to a more series tone of observations and contemplation. Your varied views and especially their interpretations, all have me seeing more than a collection of table legs searching for a place to belong. I thank you for your time and the richness you have all added to my photograph for Ians birthday dedication. And Nathalie, there is no need to apologize for getting lost in a thought, just because it was philosophical and not upbeat for a birthday wish. Remember, birthdays are also a good time to reflect on the previous years accomplishments and making adjustments for the coming year. Thank you one and all. Warmest regards, Egmont

Very interesting abstract. Your B/W images are an inspiration to all of us. If you ever happen to find the place where all the single socks missing go, please let us know.

I wonderful image to dedicate to Ian. Very fitting. This is a glorious jumble, and you captured a sense of the density of this mound of legs with your photography. For some reason I keep seeing a one legged pirate coming into this store to find a replacement for his missing peg. ;] I am also led to think of that alternate universe to where all our missing left socks disappear after being washed. I suppose the same is true for table legs. =)
