Description
Another image from the Seattle Aquarium. This is in the hatchery area were the Baby Salmon live.
Like the buffalo was to the tribes of the Great Plains, The Salmon was to the Northwest Indian Nations. The salmon is more than a source of food. Rituals pivoted around annual Salmon runs, Catching, cooking, curing and eating the salmon had sacred implications for the Tribes and fed their need for spiritual as well as physical nourishment. The Salmon was the First Nation and from thier bones, Mankind was brought forth.

It was kind of like being inside a kaleidoscope. You walked into a room that had a glass celing, you looked up into the tank above , full of small Salmon. It was very mesmerising, watching them swiming around and around. making different patterns and shapes. Layers upon layers of them.
