Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Very nice shot of this red orchid. We got some close related orchids here in the Deister forrest. There season is here in July. Last year, we got a lot of them. This year it is difficult to find them. I don't know why. Super Capture!

Oh I know that feeling. Where ever there is something beautiful to be captured, it is always located and placed in the most dangerous areas (such as the oncoming traffic)..lol. Beautiful capture and glad you're safe. Aloha

Good eye to spot these beauties on the side of the road. I have been in a similar situation when I just bolted from my car to catch an image blocking traffic in the process...This was very well worth it! Aloha!

I have not seen this variety before but it is impressive as all orchids. your luck sounds like mine, you can drive for 15 minutes and not see anyone. but stop for a picture and here they come. Just like working in a small grocery. if you wait for a customer then 20-30 minutes gone and no one. but go to stock and here they are

When I look at your wonderful March series (can you locate it more precisely in Switzerland) I really think that we both like the same kind of holidays : the discovery of Nature in all aspects, stopping for a flower, being happy to see such treasures ! Thanks for sharing this the way you do it, Jan-Carel ! :~)
