Description
This is the bayou behind my favorite cemetery. Yes, I like cemeteries very much. I feel at home there. How peaceful can you get? Beautiful as well. I didn't take this shot myself, but I was present and I don't think Brian (melizod) will mind as this is just behind my wife's grave.
Seconds after he took the shot, a large alligator lunged in the water a few feet from where he stood. It didn't take him long to take his leave.

I have seen this exact scene, several times, in person. I used to take the tiny fish I caught, stun then by slapping them against the bottom of the boat (Don't hate me!) and toss them into the water, feeding the Herons. I got them to come within a couple feet of the boat! The sound that their wings make at that close range is profound. I had two, at one point, fighting over the freebies! They are marvelous creatures to watch. Thank you for sharing this, and bringing back those wonderful memories!
