Description
I used to live in San Leandro, Ca. on the eastshore of San Francisco Bay. There was a hidden spot that I used to gather the greatest driftwood. Years of old grey wood had ended up there, considered useless debris by anyone else. It wasn't the natural branch-type driftwood, but remnants of houses and lumber. I had boxes of carved moulding, trim and blocks, weathered and pitted from who knows how long ago. Maybe some of it was from the goldrush era that floated down the Sacramento River. Anyway, I used this wood for various sculptures and the bases for metal sculptures. This reminded me of those days.
