because the moderators said so... :o))))hehehe... seriously... you're right on all these counts & they do fit within the majority-agreed-upon photo banner writeup at the top of the gallery page!... there has been manip of photos for years reaching back into the traditional darkroom & room for both straight & pw-ed images here peace

Giving you a STANDING OVATION and applauding wildly! Not only are these brilliant PHOTOS, but your commentary hits it right on the head! If one has to question your work (& other works that have had manipulation) they should be committed. There are many other photographers who manipulate photos on here- some have great creative work (as yours) and some- well...... Just keep dpong what youre doing- thats why I have you on my LIMITED favorite artists list. I often look at your photos (esp this series & the masks) and sit in awe wondering "how was that done?" Your work is always Inspiring & Brilliant! Waiting for that next series!!

It's the art that makes it art and the chief ingredient, photo's, makes it part of photography! It's a wonderful collage, a joy to see it all together! Excellent work!

Beautiful work and very accurate words. As one who works with digital photography on a daily basis, the line is blurred between 2D and photography, but this is some gorgeous photography!

Mind blowing work and results...love what you have to say...makes one re-think things...but isn't that what it's all about? Sharing your vision with others, stepping outside the box, blurring the lines of reality? You have done that here so effectively...Can't wait for the rest of the series! Aloha!

The title caught my eye. The work caught my attention. The quality took my breath away. Then i went and looked at the .gif series and now my mind is blown. I almost missed the .gif effect because of slow dial up speed but then i realized the picture had changed as i read the comments. What a delightful surprise as the .gif loaded and i saw the evolution of a finished work.I am not sure which i am more impressed by - (1) the artistic quality of the individual frames, which are masterfull or (2) the concept ot the .gifs, which is inpiring. I love seeing how simple effects can be turned into artistic achievements. The problem of which gallery to post in (as legitament/annoying as it may be), is swept away by the sheer talent of the artist. If ever a vote meant anything or needed to be cast, now is the time. This series alone should have you on everyones favorite list. Your macros made you a contender for this list by themselves. Thank you!!

Alors...

I've gotta say the 7th image is my fav and yes it is damn well photography, you are quite right in saying one of the reasons being is that is how the image was captured... Even it the pic was of a painting it would still be photography coz that is the form that to are uploading the pic in not a scanned version of the painting. And what awesome photography it is!!!
