Welcome to the galleries! I think it's a very good render, first try or otherwise. The pose, lighting and effects are original. I think the hard edge on the right should be softened as you've done on the left. It draws my eyes too much to that side. Hope to see more of your work.

I think for a first render it is excellent. Is it all Poser or did you do a bit of postwork? The reason I ask is that if you postworked it a bit on the hair, some should fall across her face and some spill across her knee for that pose. If all done in Poser, hair won't do that unless it's one of the morphables...sigh. Love the pose and lighting.

Yes I agree with the ones ahead of me, its good for a first try, light coming from left and lights the face from below is a good idea here. But yes, the hair is too well arranged for the face leaning so much down and sideways.
