BIOMy name is Jason Lee. Ive been doing cg since 2002. Lightwave is my main software. I love trying to create photo real renders. More recently I've been interested in an illustrative hyperreal look. Im currently working at Paradigm Marketing and Creative in Memphis doing arch viz. PERFECT LIGHTING!!!! Excellent work!
bluliner35
this is how it's done, alright. i could stare at this for hours on end, trying to find places where it's not quite perfect. I'm fairly certain i wouldn't find anything, tho. It's astonishing, really. absolutely inspiring for me. Big votes.

I was going to say, it had to have been a Maxwell.

You could, maybe, um, errh... 62 hours, eh? I am speechless, this is just so good!

Stupendous! I have no idea how you achieve the realism you do with each of your pieces but I truly appreciate your skill and dedication to your craft VOTE

What to say? Incredible as always, ---V---
pentamiter_beastmete
Yeah, great, but at 62 hours you'd kind of expect it to be wouldn't ya.
Silgrin
Worth those 62 hours:) I really like this light. Some elements are overexposed [maybe on purpose?], but anyway this render is a delicious piece of work.

It's excellent as usual, the only point( yeah I'm the one who will spoil everything ;)) is the Exit sign that seems a bit too cartoon like to me but it's only my mind, I'm not able of doing half of this so...VOTE

Wow Photorealistic or what!! great the only thing I could find which does'nt look right to me is the Exit text looks a little stretched but that is just such a small matter I don't know why I am mentioning it. Gets an Excellent from me.

Excellent realism and lightening, i'm always excited to see your next render. Just a question: how do you know what your final outcome will be if your render costs 62h, or do just KNOW what it will be?(by your skills) I always get frustated when experimenting with radiosity (because of the long waiting times). Excellent job!!!
otacon
Thanks. Its hard to know what the final outcome will be with maxwell. You take some risk because the preview window is so small and you cant see details. There are some things i noticed halfway through the rendering that i didnt like. The exit sign, the door frame needs more reflection, a little more reflection for the window frames...but surfacing is not easy with maxwell right now, hopefully it will be easier in the future.

Beautiful render. However...62 hours? Was that 62 hours for a larger rez image, or this one? I could get the same render in Cinema 4D in a matter of minutes. Maxwell renderer is impressive as hell. But, 62 hours?
otacon
It was a higher res, but i had to reduce to get rid of noise...

Thanks again for showing your work otacon. You have inspired me to check out this maxwell, and perhaps buy a new computer.

Otacon Does It Agin! Sweet Image! I Dont Know How Maxwell Works But Try Rendering Just The Exit Sign Again And Overlaying It In A 2D Program. Keep Em Coming! -VOTE-
otacon
Thanks. Ive rendered another version using fprime, you can see it on the newtek forums, or cgtalk...not sure if i should post it here since it looks about the same. Only took 5 hours.

Good stuff. Only one thing I find odd.... the reflective steps.... are they not concrete steps? Concrete wouldn't reflect like that on the vertical face of each step. So perhaps the steps are made of something else?
nivrad26
You got my vote, mate....

Patience was needed for this one!! Excellent work!
