Description

First I want to thank all of you for viewing and commenting. My work is far from great, so please give me those helpful comments. The nice stuff is great for ego building and confidence, but it's the critiques that you learn from..If you like..give me both =) I'll be the first critique: The shadowing on the mountain lion isn't very good..It was difficult from the original, because the lighting was just the opposite of what I needed for this shot. I'm fairly happy with the overall composition..it's just that damn cat's shadows. well that's enough verbal noise out of me, or as ZACKO would say" bla bla bla" ENJOY TODAY

OMG... far from great ????? Well you ARE right, its really is far from great, its perfect !!! Well ok maybe not perfect but you get the idea lol You do a marvelous job here Ray, an excellent one imo :o) The scenic shot is absolutely stunning already and then you put these statues in, i couldnt get those to look the way you make em look... it almost looks real !! :o) Im really trying to find any points of critic but the best i can do is this: the rock the cat is standing on has a blurry transition to the background... to gradual or something... it should be sharper imo. But stunnig work again !!! :o)) Ok, i just noticed the shadows of that mouflon(or something) are a bit off too, if i extend the shadows of the legs to the horizon i end up in the middle in stead of on left where the sun is....

You always seem to find just the right pieces to each puzzle. Your composits fit so well, that I almost think they are real. Another great piece of work. Aloha

Outstanding stuff Ray ... don't let the damn cat bother you too much ... there's probably a tree just behind him, where we can't see, giving him the shadows. I love it .. I see nothing wrong with it, sorry. I know you want critique; but wont get any from me. Beautiful job ...

Hmmm... well, you might not be too happy with the shadows but I thing they're quite excellent; and I looked at them carefully - your work is difficult to critique - first of all I'm not 'into' critique as each artist has their own vision - I don't think you're trying for a 'perfect' 100% natural look indistinguishable from 'real.' You have your own most excellent style and vision; keep developing that; so in short... Damn fine work here!

WOW!!! Or should i say...bla bla bla, lol. AWESOME JOB RAY!!! As always i might add. You have to understand that for us that simply cant do the things you do, its hard to give any constructive critizism on how to improve something that already look amazing in our eyes. I love this composition with the mountain lion sneaking up behind that mountain sheep (that cant be what they are called can it?) and i dont think its shadows look bad at all. If there is anything in this scene that could use some more work, its that "sheep"...cant put my finger on what exactly...but somethings missing...maybe its some shades in the horns or something...heck if i know, LOL. Anyway...as always im stunned by your talent. Have a wonderful day #:O)

I really see no "huge" problem with the shadowing, but I know that is hard to do. You should try Bryce, as you seem to be a frustrated artist wanting to create scenes that do not exist. :o) Just a suggestion. Bryce is really a fun program once the basics are learned.

the cat is not as good as your norm but the mountain goat makes up for it. I think you got the color right on!

perfectly composed & chosen & blended... but for me, i do like leaving the sculptures natural with just a hint of color... otherwise it looks as if you painted on to the photo.. loses the surreal look imho :] the change in saturation & tone looks great in the landscapes!
