Powerful and emotive image. This is one of the more effective CG renders, I have seen. It is simple, but powerfully minimilistic in it's approach to a problem most people are blind to. Well done!

I agree.. most zoos are just plain cruelty. Poor animals and stupid people.

Well, I think circuses are far worse. Any animal confined and paraded for our entertainment suffers. Some zoos offer havens for mistreated elephants that could not survive otherwise. Anyway, excellent image. Lighting is spot on. This gets my vote.

A long time ago I already decided to never go to a zoo again, seeing this work makes that decision stronger! So well done, you wonderfully captured the misery!

vile, not meant to offend anyone but trust me back in the mid 80's, i remember visiting the Zoo in buenos aires (where i grew up) and it was dire. And this is my recollection.

With that said let me re-comment on the image. This image is what true art is all about I was so moved by this to leave a comment on how I felt. Great work on your image it is Powerful and you know I like your work even if I disagree with your views.

The image does indeed move you. I believe that "most" zoos these days have gotten beyond this sort of situation. However, I know this is not the case in all exotic animal facilities nor for all sorts of animals. Let's face it... elephants require a great deal of space to have anything even remotely resembling their natural habitat and very few keepers will expend the resources to provide that. Which is a tragedy and should be a crime.

Even through the horror of content, it is a beautiful illustration and shows the darkest side of the situation. Very well done and the lighting is superb. Mark

WELL DONE!!! Powerful image. Reminds me of the poor asian elephant at the Salt Lake Hogle Zoo. It was in an absurdly small enclosure and it would just stand facing away from the crowd and bang its head against a wall. It finally died. I was sad at the loss of such a beautiful animal but happy that it finally got a release, although there must have been a much better solution. I stopped going to that Zoo because of that poor elephant... Thank you for creating this image!

very great and powerfull picture..that makes us all think..but we dont have to accept this there is a lot of people who campain and lobby politicians to stop this maddeness.. people have the power to change things ..they can raise money to buy land ..so elephants can have a sanctuary.. and zoo can be close down..dont go there and paid to see this .. use you computer to write letter... All together we can make a better world for annimals ..
