Description

Every year here in Montgomery, Texas during the last week of August throughout the month of September into early October, we're besieged quite litterally by about 50 plus hummingbirds. We have ten big bottle feeders up and have to cook sugar water daily, filling them up at night while the little ones sleep..they'll drain it the next day. They are amazing...and the meanest critters ever..I saw one come down ontop of another hummer and bop him on the head and took over his spot only to be chased away by yet another "meaner" hummer. I've gotten bumped into by a hummer on my way into the house, a friend got zoomed so close by a couple of hummers that he felt wings in his hair..I've even came eye to eye with that beak so close to my eye and said "Hi" the bird wasn't impressed, he zoomed backwards and away... Enjoy the pics, I'm taking movies and pics both. I'm disappointed that I haven't figured out how to do a wide still pic that would still be able to capture the 20 to 30 something humming birds zooming between feeders... Wow! My wife would be in heaven!! We've got a few feeders and a few hummers, but this is amazing. Nice captures you've made here. Now I must go make my darling envious! :D
