Description

Quick little story behind this one: A good friend of mine made a crack that when he became a famous author I could illustrate his book covers for him. This coming from a guy who thinks its "too much work" to clean his house more than once a year and has stacks of pizza boxes in his kitchen that rival the Leaning Tower of Pisa (God Bless the bachelor)... it was obviously not something to be taken with much seriousness. As a joke, I created a faux book cover for his never to be written book series and e-mailed it to him and all of our mutual friends. I started with book 6 and had so much fun doing it I went back to create book 1 (with the objective of creating the entire series ... at least up to the aforementioned book 6). I feel I did a pretty good job of capturing the fantasy book cover mood and thought I would share it with everyone here. So here's Book 1. If there's interest I'll post some of the other covers from time to time. They're fun if nothing else. Let me know what you think. :) Content used is all from Daz except DM's Denise by marforno and Danie. Easy to fall in love with her if you ask me.

Yo Scott, this is way cool! Not only the quality of the 2 images (woah, love both backgrounds... not to mention that girl), but the allover design is really preofessional. If I wasn't into arts myself giggle I'd ask you to do our band's first CD-Cover no kiding. And to answer your question: "YES, there IS interest about the other covers!" :) Cheers -Martin

i agree with the above, very professional. (though maybe the text has covered up just a bit too much of the picture ?)

wingnut55: I agree about text coverage ... but that was actually part of the in-joke. :) DAW Books was famous for obscuring really awesome cover art with author and title text forcing us to wait over a decade for art books to come out to finally see the unadulterated image. Originally I covered up more of the image but "pride" in the render prompted me to only go half the distance. LOL Thanks for the feedback everyone!
