my great grandparents came to Detroit in the 20's from poland. my mother didn't speak english until her early teens. i grew up in a house full of polish traditions and language. i appreciate your pictures above and beyond the excellent work, i see them as a glimpse into a country i was raised to think of as my roots but have never seen. those in my family who didn't speak english have passed away, my children will never know the polish house i did.
