Description
I took photos and manipulated them in photoshop adding a gradient for the sky and lowering the opacity for the nail shadows and merge of water and land. I used the liquifier tool to morph the bread.

Great attention to detail on the spikes not a rounded head as a typical Large nail as used in that era! in deed a strong message that should not be cast aside.
