Description

OK yesterday posted the closeups and here are the distant shots showing the whole house. The Poly count is a bit high, 600,000 a little higher than expected. Poser 6 had problems with the count so I rendered these in poser 4. The main problem is the under eve trim and the ironwork fence. Using both at the same time is a bit of a problem. Now mind you the "support" is only 8000 polys but is used 24 times in the house and the fence is 21000 per section and there are 6 sections used here. both of these items are only medium res, but due to the number of round edges this makes the count high. I am making a second PZ3 file (both will be included) with square beams under the eves and a pillar and plank fence. This will drop the total poly count by 317,000 in the PZ3 file, and it looks pretty cool. Will post a verson 2 tomorrow. In this PZ3 as is the file can be droped in size by removing the models on the back side of the house and removing fence parts that are not in the camera view. This drops the poly count by over 100,000 I left them in because I don't know what angle a person will be shooting from so the peoson doing the render will have to remove the unwanted parts which is much faster than adding in the ones you might need if I were to remove them. Since it is for Halloweeen and thus fall I tossed a couple of bags worth of leaves on the lawn to make it look more like fall (OK I paintied them into the texture map in photoshop, but same idea...lol) Each yellow leaf has a strong contrast to the rest of the bump map to "raise it off the surface" looks realy good in a close up. See... (the name on the tombstone is a bump map, there is a blank one included for adding your own names, this grave belongs to Rig R. Mortis) "Grave Close-up" Rendered in poser 6 using the P4 render engine, image was lightened in photoshop due to the fact that Poser 6 always renders very dark when using the P4 engine.

That sure is a lot of polys! But the house looks fantastic. Maybe the polycount can be brought down using the smoothing features of P6? Brilliant work!

This is so great. Thank you for making this! I love your ghosty. LOL. The front fence is awsomely creepy. The grave is nice. I like the fallen leaves too. I don't know if this is will help your polycount or not, but you can take off the porch railings for the ground level, Greek Revival houses usually don't have lower railings. I can't wait to make a spooky background for house. :D bB
