Description

Whilst walking on Cockburns Law in Berwickshire Scotland I spotted this stem of heather growing through the eye of a bird

quite a nice one... i really like the idea... i'd tried to shift the flower off the skull - i guess the purple would have contrasted better on the green than on the grey... but it may be just me... :) my five cent... :) have a great day!

In order to have seen that possible picture, you must have a wonderful eye for detail. Since the image has 2 important components (skull, flower), I would have shifted the POV away from the subjects so that both would be in focus. Another alternative would have been to have the stem (a connection) in focus and the skull and flower equally out of focus -- i.e. Life rising from Death.

Thank you all for you comments, we only learn from our mistakes, so I will learn a lot from this. MGD I like the image you explain with the connection it sound like the image I wanted to capture. Blessed Be.

Excellent composition! But i agree with MGD... the skull doesn't have to be sharp... but it would be better if you could at least recognise that it is a skull. Still the focus should rest on the stem like it is now.
