Description

City 64 is also called Novo Paradisio, or New Paradise. Compared to the horror of ground life, it is a paradise in comparison. During the last days of the golden age of the planet Balaam, The humans there constructed huge flying cities using the new Molecular Motion Induction engines to sustain large 'anti-gravity' events safely. To bad they weren't so safe with their environment and with their genetic engineering. Their rush to cure a disease caused a retro-viral anti-biotic microbe loose into the seas. All microbes in the seas were destroyed in a matter of a decade. All sea-life followed. They had covered all the land with cities, and depended on the seas for life. They had a high technology. Flying cities, robot laborers, genetically engineered pets and companions, they had space colonies, and reached out to the stars and were still stupid enough to kill their world. Riots gripped their planet as the horror sank in. Building burned, without anyone to put out the fires. Plagues ravaged the survivors of these riots and social upheavals. Over 25% of their population died in the "Fire times".The Blight which swept their world a hundred years later, killed of 90% of the remainder. The floating cities cut off communication with the ground to prevent a spread of the 'Blight", a disease which cause the skin to peel off and madness to grip those who had it to change into "Red Howlers", psychotic, super-strong murderers. That was decades ago. Now the floating cities have sunk into a sybaritic, dystopian, hedonistic, and parasitic state. They feed off the suface now. They raided the surface for slaves and food. What twisted pleasure they derived from these poor captives were beyond imagination. They know they are doomed to perish with their dying world. The oxygen is being depleted and carbon dioxide is building up. They know their thoughtlessness destroyed themselves and all future generations. So they mark their time with cruelty and hobbies that fill their time, while their world's time play out. I hope their past it NOT our future! Media is Vue 4 with some building from scifi3d.com, which didn't work well, the rest are built from extra primitives, and freebie buildings.
