Description

Why has politics and finger pointing come into play in the wake of Hurricane Katrina? People still need to be rescued and people are already quick to play the blame game. By doing this you and/or the politicians are doing a disservice to the victims as well as to the United States. We are suppose to be pulling together as a nation and give a helping hand in any way possible. Granted there has been a rousing amount of support both as a nation and from the world but blaming the President is not helping anyone. I don't know why it took President Bush 24 hours to react after the levee broke in New Orleans? But why was New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin and Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco completely unprepared for protecting there citizens...See my point, it goes up the food chain. There should absolutely be no Party lines, race, religion, etc. be in play here we are all in this together. No boundaries! (I can give you a long list of those people who are too busy pointing fingers and not thinking of their fellow Americans. So don't get me started.) The blame game should be left too much after the people of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama get back on there feet again. Then and only then can we see the errors that have been made locally and federally. From there we can fix those mistakes move forward and be prepared. But first we must think of our fellow American's in their time of need. http://www.redcross.org/donate/donate.html. http://www.salvationarmyusa.org/USNSAHome.htm You can also make donations in person at your local Wal-Mart or Sam's Club Military families needing assistance locating loved ones and finding support for their families should contact www.militaryonesource.com or call 1-800-342-9647. Very touching sir, and very well done. I never liked the term "blame game" though, a better word would be "accountability", which carries with it a higher burden. Your right though, help those that need it first, let the heads roll later.

This is a wonderful image. Very sad but absolutely wonderful. This whole thing with Katrina is so devasting in so many ways, that I cannot even believe it.....Bush is still defending the head of FEMA's actions. Of course, he appointed him knowing full well that he was NOT qualified for the job and had in fact, been fired from his previous job as a football coach or something. Nepostism does not work. I dont think those that could have done something quite realized that such a natural disaster could happen in this country, which is pure stupidity. I knew and I have never even been to New Orleans or the Gulf coast. Well, I am glad that the people are out and that animals are now getting rescued, and life begins again. Having been through two terrible natural disasters in California, I know how hard it is to recover emotionally and get back on one's feet. Nevertheless, you have created an image of quality and did a wonderful job with the tears.....actually a fabulous job. EXCELLENT

This is a most powerful and emotional image and your words and sentiments are too true. In this mass devastation the only priority is the people directly affected by this tragedy. Politics has no play right now as there is just too much to do to help these victims get through this mess. Absolutely suprb artwork and wonderful words!
