Description

If it takes you more than one day to complete this test, please do not apply. Thank you. *** This image is not aimed at all government workers, just a handful of them that probably wouldn't understand it anyway. *** addendum: I am commenting on the government's lack of planning, as a whole, at several levels and a few higher-up individuals, who get paid to prepare and protect us against things like what has happened. Military, Law enforcement, Healthworkers and regular citizens are doing magnificent things to help the victims. Specific fingerpointing doesn't do any good now. It's the whole system that needs fixing. No one could have stopped the storm, but with the few days warning, more deaths could have been avoided, in my opinion.

At this time wouldn't it be more prudent to find something positive to say? Maybe you should take a few facts into consideration before you chastise anyone... As of the census2 of 2000, there are 484,674 people, 188,251 households, and 112,950 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,036.4/km (2,684.3/mi). There are 215,091 housing units at an average density of 459.9/km (1,191.3/mi). The racial makeup of the city is 67.25% African American, 28.05% White, 0.20% Native American, 2.26% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.93% from other races, and 1.28% from two or more races. 3.06% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 188,251 households out of which 29.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 30.8% are married couples living together, 24.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 40.0% are non-families. 33.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.48 and the average family size is 3.23. In the city the population is spread out with 26.7% under the age of 18, 11.4% from 18 to 24, 29.3% from 25 to 44, 20.9% from 45 to 64, and 11.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 33 years. For every 100 females there are 88.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 83.3 males. The median income for a household in the city is $27,133, and the median income for a family is $32,338. Males have a median income of $30,862 versus $23,768 for females. The per capita income for the city is $17,258. 27.9% of the population and 23.7% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 40.3% of those under the age of 18 and 19.3% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line. New Orleans is well known for its Creole culture and the persistence of Voodoo by a few of its residents, as well as for its music, food, architecture, and spirit of celebration.

frogdot: Well done! Let's all hope the situation improves quickly! HSG: Just wondering - what do ANY of those stats have to do with this? This is spewing meaningless data, not providing usable information. If you had any sort of point in mind with your post, you certainly failed to make it clear.

I feel that I have the necessary qualifications to be a government employ, but before I take the test, I would like to ask two questions: 1 - Can we use our books, and 2- Will the test be graded on the curve?

Do we have to throw something? And after looking at HSG's 'positive' stats, it seems alot of the city may have been in water over their heads well before the flooding.

Tough choice; A or B?? It seems awfully advanced problem for a goverment offical. But given some time and experience they learn what to do; by the good old try-and-error-method. Have nice and dry day everybody.

Hmmm, wonder what Shrub thinks about climate change now? Like the image a lot (as always) and it's a excellent point well made. On a technical point, it could use a few surface ripples around the guy. Still voting for it, though :)

RTFLMAO! This is a great test! But lets face it folks, it wasnt just poor planning, as much as I dislike Bush and would love to blame him. It is also the people that lived there. They knew full well that a flood is not only possible but very likely. So instead of moving out of harms way they decide to challenge nature and put their trust in others (government) to take care of them. Now this is what happens. I am not saying it isnt sad to see, and the lives that have been destroyed is terrible. But lets put responsibility where it belongs.. if you build a home below sea level, at the edge of an ocean, in a known hurricane region, that has flooded many times before... what do you THINK is going to happen?

The wise man built his house upon the rock. The foolish man built his house upon the sand. The rains came, the waters rose and the flood washed away the foolish man's house. End of story.

Hey Dave! Haven't had a lot of time lately to view or comment on each new post. You're still nuts!!!...and HSG would make an excellent "government employee"...no solution, just rhetoric!
