Description
That sinking feeling of coming home empty handed.
I've been investiguating matte painting and this is most certainly my most ambitous attempt in that regards. Part of a bigger 3400 x 2200, I have provided a blowup has so much detail is lost in the compression process.
This is the first picture of a Portfolio I'm starting to build.
And also, probably my last model with a unified texture has I'm working on painting my models with greater details.
Hope you like it.
Planet Axus was used has a starting point.

Erix its great to hear that you plan to move onto Matte painting your models. I look forward to seeing those works:) On the image as supplied what is the black areas? Painting for cave ....rtefacts or a redo blocks issue? Sorry to ask?

@Woz2002 It's a cave complete with stairway, vegetation, steps and humanoids. To bad compression does not convey it well.

I actually viewed the "Empty Handed...Detail" shot first....which led me to look for this...Perfect composition!..Excellent work Eric!!....(The details in those larger renders are something to behold...eh?...^_^..)...It seems we've worked along parrallel lines over the past few years...recently I too have been toying with the idea of painting my imported models to achieve greater detail...I'm looking forward to seeing your progress in this!...
