Description

The sun goes down on Man-of-War Cove, St. Oswald's Bay, Dorset, UK, after a nice swim. I liked the look of the ripples diffracting through the gaps in the rocks, and the golden sunlight on the cliffs, as I walked back up the track. I'm not a proper photographer - I don't go much beyond point n' click, but my Olympus C60 is very patient with me. !mj

A great shot, I think. The little waves and the overall composition gives the image a lot movement. You can feel the water floating around...

Looks like one of those little coves that were sooo popular with the smugglers of old....illicite trade (wine, brandy and spices) from the continent, brought over during the wars with France. I can just see a small coastal schooner dashing in, unloading it's cargo before the Revenue cutter caught up to it...(I know, I have read too many O'Brian/Bolitho seafaring novels...). Very nice image!

Gorgeous capture of this UK bay! Contrasts are very beautiful as well as the composition!
