Description

Southpointe was a town I dreamed up in a D&D campaign I wrote twenty years ago. I was in between jobs and had planned the campaign weeks in advance. You see, I had a friend coming to visit for a month. My neighbor accross the street had nothing going on, and a couple others poped in and out when they could. All together, we spent a month getting up early, making strong coffee, and playing D&D till the wee hours, only to crash and start again the next day. None of us will ever forget that month, and later I wrote a book based on the adventures our characters had experienced. My friend and I also wrote a piece of software that month called DM, that allowed the Dungeon Master to track all of the games activities and characters on the computer. Ahh, those were the days... The picture is done in Bryce5. One small castle part is from the free castles here, and the gate in the foreground is from DAZ. All the rest was built by hand. Hope some of the original inspiration has come through.

Beautiful job BK. Yes, I remember well those days, you and Lonnie and myself hacking and slaying our way all around Anozira to close the 'Hole to Hell'. Great stories abound from the tales of the voyages on the good ship 'Lizard' stolen from this very town, and of our allies and friends everywhere. I'm sure the memoirs of Vina, Richard, Callino & Gorok, and myself will provide a rich source of materials and be done justice by your masterful hand. Thanks for this image from a great time out of the misty past. Wish we could go back there again. --- ken
