My name is Joanna. I am a graphic artist by profession and a passionate photographer by avocation. I live on Long Island, not far from New York City in the United States. Other interests include gardening, listening to music (mostly Jazz, classical and blues), going to plays and reading. I enjoy traveling and spend many happy hours photographing alone or with friends.

DRAMATIC IMAGE.that seems like fun.How did you not squish the mushroom? in total dark room? Love it.

I did squish them a bit, but you can lift the cover off this scanner or prop it up. Then I covered the mushrooms with black cloth so the light wouldn't interfere with the scan. I also scanned it as a "color document" so the contrast was very low and I brought it up in Photoshop. The reason for that was to minimize the harsh lighting on the delicate shading of the mushrooms.
