Description

This is the first step to the Transfagarasan Road coming from south to north... Poenari Chateau was one of the fortresses that belongs to Vlad Tepes - Dracula. It was built in XIV century on a cliff in the Arges defile; afterwards, in modern times, upper on the road was built Vidraru dam, one of the biggest in Romania. The walls of the fortress are about 2-3m thick and the surrounding view is breathtaking, the way up is made by cement stairs (over 1400) and worth to try climbing. There are 5 towers (4 circular and one square), you can see the place of the chambers, the water reservoir (it has a few weeks autonomy in food and water) or the jail. Hope one day you will pass through there and see it all... Love and sun in everything you get...

Impressive work, pity it's surrounded by stairs built in concrete making it look less ancient. Gorgeous shot, fantastic POV!

LOL. Just uploaded my picture. Browsed around and found that you had almost the same title. No copycat I swear. As for your picture, I love the POV, bit too much sepia for my taste but still wonderful.
