Description
I decided I want to learn to oil paint. So I bought some stuff and this is my first go. I was wondering if someone had any ideas how I can improve it. - I haven't finished the sky, and I can't seem to do any minor highlights yet, it is far to wet. I have only spent a couple of hours on it so far.
How long must I wait for it to be dry enough for me to add some white highlites to the wave? Is it days? Or do I have to wait a whole year?

I am convinced you own the right feeling it needs to paint in oil - as to your question - that depends from various factors - what kind of oil colours and a bit mor yet - basically said, you can continue within a few days - or, if effects are wanted - even in a few hours;

you made me laugh..because i always wanted to learn to paint myself but I would make such a mess of it.. it would be a waste of money..if i was you I would first give the paiting a light coat of paint and let it dry before i continue with it ..rather than wait til it is all finish as than it would take a long time ,, I tried it on a wall once..it is different with canvas ..good luck...
