Description

Three image cards for the 2D Forum's September Theme. Drawn in Adobe Illustrator. The development of these cards you can see in the 2D Forum through this LINK. ------------------------------ Akhenaten and Nefertiti ruled ancient Egypt in about 3300 years ago. They were a revolutionary couple in the ancient Egypt's history: They wanted peace, and wanted to concentrate in developing their country as it was - not by expanding it with wars. They supported education, and art; the visual art became far more realistic during their quite a short ruling era. They drastically changed the religion - they lifted one god above all, Aten, the god of the sun. Other gods were denied. The beauty of Nefertiti is though the thing we mostly know about them - the bust of hers (the torso statue) was found in the beginning of the 20th century, and has obviously influenced a lot to our concept of beauty. Why then choosing Anubis as their Jack? Anubis was the god who guided people in their way to the Valley of Death. In about ten years Akhenaten and Nefertiti ruled they couldn't erase all the beliefs, all the gods from the ancient Egyptian culture. Anubis might have been waiting for them, patiently but by the time angrier and angrier... At last they might have met. And Tutankhamen freed him finally quite shortly after the revolutionary and loving couple died. You can read a lot about mysterious Nefertiti, and his husband Akhenaten (originally Amenhotep IV) on the Net if you're interested. ------------------------------ Thanks for viewing! I appreciate a lot of your comments! :-)

Titta, your cards are truly elegant. The black background effectively adds to the drama of the colorful figures. Using the light highlighting behind the spade symbol is a stroke of genius. You have a big winner here. Excellent artwork! V

Hi Titta! Great to see your work again, this one's particularly sumptuous. Even if this was a fun exercise for the theme, I'm sure it'd be very marketable if you were to do the whole set :-)

I'm glad I remembered to come back to this. I saw it in the forum. It's EXCELLENT. So professional looking! If I was going to buy cards, I would buy these! This is really great work, Titta. :)
