Description
After the Second World war, the Netherlands were in desperate need of engines for their railways. This is probably the biggest engine built in the Fifties.. it is called, how boring, the 1200 series. Standing in front of those engines is not boring at all. They rise up high above you and so they make you feel quite small.
The 1200 series was used for all purposes, but mainly for passenger trains.
The photo has been taken in the National Railway Museum (City of Utrecht).
