When you were very small
So precious were those moments
My heart remembers all
Those tiny hands and little toes
I kissed with great delight
As I rocked you sound to sleep
In my arms each night
Then all to soon the rocking years
Were memories of the past
And right before my very eyes
It all had gone so fast
There came a day when I looked up
To see you almost grown
I did not want the years to take
The time that we had known
But sadness turned to pleasure
As I gazed upon your life
My little girl of many years
Had now become a wife
And now that you have children
To love and watch them grow
