Description
Cannon gate of medeival fortification of Rhodos City.

Very nice. Looks like you could walk right onto this place. My only note is that the arrow slits on the battlements should be more cross shaped as this allows the defenders to shoot off to the side while protected. Excellent feel to picture though. :D

Also, the stone edges of the upper crenallated towers, where the defenders would shoot down on the invaders, are too clean. Even newly dressed stone is somewhat rough on the edges, and in-between the stones where the grout and mortar are. The surface of the stones looks good but some of the pits and holes would also carry around the edges making them appear rough hewn. It seems you have it right for the lower stones of the main fortification, but didn't dress the upper works the same. It doesn't have to look like the towers are in ruins but the edges of the upper works would be weathered similarily to the faces of the lower stones. Other than that, a nice render.

This gate has been rebuild via Italians in 1912-1945.... I thnk that machicolation is new :-(
