Description

(Just noticed it was almost midnight and I'd forgotten to post anything!) This is a color test I made for "Don't Peek" (yesterday's submission). I did the painting in indirect color, that is, I did a black/white/gray underpainting first. I got to worrying what to color it, so as to not screw up that summer's endeavors. Then it occured to me, the jealous mistress sitting on my desk could assist. So, I started doing color overlays on a b/w image using my good old PhotoDeluxe. This is one of the tests. In the end, I went for a naturalist color scheme. But I think I'll return to this idea for another try. Somehow the glowing snakes give a nice simulation of the arcane forces flowing through the Gorgon's coiffure.

The green of the snakes complements the pink of the face. It is the mix of values that makes the gray underlay interesting.

Yes...almost a positive negative :) Not a bad idea, sometimes the things you think are outrageous are the best direction you can take ! Nice test run !!
