Description
I was browsing through the Avaition gallery the other day and noticed that there were no pictures of a B-17 or a Corsair. I realised I couldn't let two of the best known planes of WWII go unrepresented, so I did some digging. These are pictures that I took of the 'Belle on Memorial Day 2002. I lucked out. By being there on that day, because the National Guard had displays there and the barriers were down, allowing people to get close to the plane. My only regret was not being able to get any shots of the cocpit.
These pictures were taken with an Ansco Sillouette which had a zoom lens ranging from 28 to 56mm.
One thing I've never been able to find out: If you look close, You'll see that on one side, the 'Belle's masscott is painted with a red bathing suit. On the other side of the plane, it's blue. Does anyone know if there was an actual reason for the difference?
I'll post the Corsair pics tomarrow.

Awesome photos! You did a great job getting these pics! I don't know what the reason was behind the different bathing suit colors, but the Nazzi symbol meant they shot down one of their planes Love these photos!
