Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

gorgeous capture, Jan-Carel! Those mountains are MARVELOUS!!!!! i just love the violet hues! makes me think of a patriotic American song called "America the Beutiful" which was written by Katharine Lee Bates in the late 1800s. it goes like this, "Oh beautiful, for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain, For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain! America! America! God shed his grace on thee, And crown thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea." Well, there's no sea here, but that's the song that's going thru my head as i look at your MAGESTIC capture!!!! it's a very special image!

All vegetation appears to be gone at this altitude a strong indication that you're up high. Such a breathtaking view. Aloha

Great landscape scene, like how the bright light comes in on the right and adds the textures:):):)...V
tallpindo
I like a good talus though I would not trust the footing close to the edge. Long ago and far away...

More magnificent mountains. There is definitely a difference in humidity from the right to the left edge of the image. Not only is there a band of clouds to the right, but the haze is quite heavey - while on the left there's barely haze at all. Beautiful capture!
