Webdancer and minos 6, thank you so much for taking the time to view my image, and for your comments! This is only the 2nd thing I've posted here at Renderosity; quite intimidating, given the beauty and mastery of 3D art around here. :p Much appreciated!

Thank you for your extremely helpful and detailed comments, Parthius. At this point, I would like to digress and ask: CAN WE ADD BREAKS IN OUR COMMENTS? Run-on sentences drive me bananas. anyHOO -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The "new" Lara (revamped by the game designers at Crystal Dynamics) has a backpack that seems to have a "pleather" texture; not plastic, and not leather, LOL. So that's what I was going for. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About the shadow: yeah, me too! I kept thinking there was a flaw in the settings, and realized that that entire area was already devoid of direct lighting. I thought it through, and wondered if my own feet cast a shadow if I'm standing in shade. (I'm still not sure. :p) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The platform is Daz's own Alchemy Chasm, found here: http://www.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=3420 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I must say, I'm new to posting images at Renderosity; I picked the Renderosity products used in the scene, but didn't think to add information about items acquired from other stores. Thanks for all your help and kindess! You made me feel like a million bucks! (okay, 2...) :p

First of all, an excellent image!!! She looks lovely/wonderful/very Lara!! The rest of the scene really works and expecially the platform drew me in. Now for some details in no particular order: Her shoulder straps look shiny, if that is the effect you wanted great, if not play with the settings in the material room. I found myself looking for her shadow, then realized she was already in shadow and still couldn't decide if there should be some additional darkening (radiosity effects easily done in postwork) around her feet. The platform/structure looks great and got my curiosity up on where it came from. The Vue background looks wonderful except for the dark green, which looks too low resolution next to the structure. Please take a little time in the comments section to tell us more of what you did. Wonderful work, hope to see more soon!

I loved that (too)! The mayan building, the dense forest... Very cool! About your feet and the shadow thing, well, it depends on the lightning source... Usually, yes, there is at least a little shadow, but, it made no big difference here... :D

This is another exceptional image! For your second posting it's superb! I know how you felt about being a bit intimidated! I viewed images for 3 months before posting one because the talent here is amazing! But, I'm glad you're posting images, you certainly fit right in! Beautiful work!

Nice picture ! As the upper part of her body is in straight light, I thought it would make sense to have an additional shadow for her body around her feet, especially as the character is under a construction and the "surrounding" light is weaker in the lower part of tht construction. :-)
