Description

Following my previous post...this is also a shot of the planet "Canyonshores" by "Firesong"... The settlement is made up of two of my models...one building cloned many times & a statue...The settlement area came out a little too dark for my liking...Can anyone tell me if there's a way to control the lightness/darkness of the shadow cast by an imported model??? Postworked in PSP 9 Thanks for viewing, Comments Welcome.

Can't help with the query, but I think those models add a really organic feel to this piece. I'd love to take a walk-through here!

Great model and scale! The ambient light editor might help your situation.

Beautufil creation! I don't know the answer to your question, but I have noticed that the shadows cast by imported models often have a different, more unrealistic look than the surrounding terrain shadows. Some postwork compensation can be achieved with the shadow/highlight adjustment in Photoshop CS. This is an amazing tool if you haven't fiddled with it yet.-cheers

Cool structure! Try changing the Ambient color, may be it`ll help with shadows but it will also mess up the colors in your scene. There are no direct setup for shadow brightness, etc. now...unfortunately. I saw a future build at SIGGRAPH where you can control the bluriness of the shadows, making them a bit lighter.

sometimes you can also use a soft spotlight to lighten things up...
