Description

"A weary fleet follows a softly lit trail, hoping to find a way home" A view of my very first sci-fi scene ("Barren & Blue") from a slightly different angle. Thanks again to Czarny Robert for his spaceships and the beacons (a modified version of "Alien Monument"). I'd like to make the lighting more realistic, but I'm not sure how to go about it. Any suggestions? Cheers, Jazza

Made me think of Homeworld.

First of all, I like the beacons quite a bit; leaving one in the foreground was a terrific idea. The wind patterns on the sand and the sun flare are also very good. I think darkening the background (hills) and the approaching ships into shadow or silhouette as well as varying the size and (reducing) the intensity of your stars would contribute to a more realistic result. The twilight effect of your piece is quite good and it would only take a little tweaking to make it really great.

Beautiful landscape. I love the shadows on the ground and the glow of the distant lights. Excellent!
