Description

Oil on Canvas 1200mm x 900mm ( 48in x 36 ) I've got a bit of a fetish about doors I think. This painting just started at the door and I knew I wanted to set it in ruins and a lake so I just started that way and the rest followed. My partners little gire Laura, wanted to know how to get to the castle and I said, you go through the door and you will be there, it's majic, so she asked if she could get into my painting and try it and I said yes, so she told the teacher at school who said no she wont be able to and then I got in the shit, but I explained it had to be in here dreams and the next morning she told me she had been there and went into great detail of what was in the castle so it must be true.

You know, I think this is my favorite so far, Graeme. It really appeals to fantasy, the shadows, the ruins in the distance, the lone door. This is great, a mixture of exquisite detail (the door) and surreal blending and blurring (the ruins). Then there's the sky. I could go on for hours. Wonderful job, Graeme.

if this had come without the story i would have been like thats pretty cool i guess nothing new. Actually no need to guess its good, but you have brought the "certificate of authenticity" thats way different.

All I can say is that I can get lost in each of the worlds you present. I need one of those doors, a way of escape.

Thanks all for the comments. We all need one of these doors DrmzRmyne I'm sure, sometimes I refer to them as my doors of enlightment but on other times it's like going through the door and when you close it it's like closing your eyes and going into the dream world where I think up so many paintings.

This is my favourite painting of yours Graeme. Words cannot describe the opportunities you have created for the imaginations of people who view it. Everytime I look at it I see something different and that to me is a characteristic of a brilliant work. Well done.

Astonishingly imaginative and excellent image! This is the likes of things to be found in fantasy books before the imaginative images are ruined by movies! Absolutely stunning! PS it's Victoria, British Columbia (Canada) ;)
