Description

Rendered entirely in Carrara. Again only postwork is signature and slight colour enhancement. This is my third picture with Carrara and since using this package I have all but stopped using Vue and Poser!!! The shadow of teh horse is cast naturally from the sun but I think its a little hard (maybe thats why the horse is staring at it!). I tried a distant light but it didn't give me the effect I wanted. Does anyone know how to soften the shadows cast by the sun in Carrara 4 Pro?

Great image, the atmosphere is very well conceived. To obtain a softer shadow on a distant light you need to choose the ray-traced soft shadows in the Effects tab of the light. Then you need to set a large value for the light radius, this should get you a softer shadow.

I love this image - it's thought provoking and so atmospheric. He's a wise and curious horse. Excellent work.
