Description
This tiny mining community nestled high up in the Colorado mountains
has a magnificent view no one can see.
Years ago the government ordered everyone to immediately evacuate
due to high levels of radiation.
Houses remain intact, and fully furnished, including clothing and dishes,
turning this picturesque community into a glorious ghost town,
We shot these pictures on a recent outing along the scenic byway toward Vail.
The Autumn landscape was the most vibrant we had ever seen,
taking our breath away at every turn..
If you look closely at the last picture,
you can see the river at the bottom of the ravine.
Original photos are very high res
and had to be significantly compressed for this collage.

What is the name of this Ghost Town ? I have a really good friend in Colo Springs that seems to know the history and details of Colorado Ghost towns. I wonder where the radiation came from... It couldnt have been a Uranium mine......although they may be struck uranium by mistake. Wonderful photos. What a fabulous place to be a ghost. :-) I am envious. Although autumn will come before I leave. Thanks for sharing these wonderful photos with us !! ~HUGS~
