Description

Hello, thanks for looking! I've been working on this on and off for around a week. I still have a lot of detail I want to put in, but I was hoping for some comments, critizism, pointers or just some encouragement to keep up with this tedious piece. This was drawn and scanned in, the painting was done in photoshop and painter. I really wanted to do something professional looking for my portfolio, which I'm hoping will land me some freelance illustration work. Thanks again. Best wishes!

This is definitely a portfolio piece that will attract positive attention. My only crits would be that guy in front has a slightly twisted leg between and knee and ankle, and you should go around the linework of the back figures to remove some of the halo effect and rough edges. Maybe also some reflected light on their facial armour to pick the glow of their goggles?

They seem disconnected from the ground, I think lunarmonkey had it when he said the halo. It's really bringing out the figures in a negative way. They need to sink back onto the landscape more

A strong image, I agree with the above critiques. I think the right leg on the middle guy just needs the knee pad rotated to "his" left, or shift his foot to "his" right. To make the characters not float, just add some gravel/dirt/mud build up around their feet to blend with the ground. Great work Ninja and good luck in finding that Illustration work!
